A person named Abdul Hannan (42) was killed after being called to the ground from Kalaye Marti Bazar in Joypurhat. In this incident, a person named Tahidul Islam (40) was arrested by the Kalai police station.
On Sunday (July 20) at 2 o’clock in the night, the murder took place at Mashpukra Bridge in Shailgun village of Kalai upazila.
On Tuesday (July 21), the victim’s son, Azadul Islam, filed a murder case at Kalai police station as the plaintiff. Among the six accused in the case, the police arrested one accused named Tahidul Islam.
The other accused are (Azizul Islam) (Bakul) (Babulu) (Musha) (Nahid Islam)
According to the source of the local and the deceased’s son, Abdul Hannan was blocked on his way back home from the market and taken aside. At one stage, the accused took him to the field. Hannan’s testicles were then tied with a rope and tortured in various ways. At one stage of the torture, poison was poured into Hannan’s mouth to kill him.
When the matter came to light, his son Azadul reached the spot and rescued his father in a state of stupor and took him to the Kalai Upazila Health Complex in his auto, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Kalai Police Station Officer-in-Charge OC Rafiqul Islam said that after receiving information from the hospital, the police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Joypurhat General Hospital for post-mortem. Later, an accused was arrested in a case filed by the victim’s son and he was sent to jail through the court. Police are working to nab the other accused
