An orientation workshop on the typhoid vaccination campaign was held in Joypurhat. The workshop was held at the auditorium of the Joypurhat Civil Surgeon’s Office at 11 am today, Monday.
The orientation workshop was organized by the Joypurhat Civil Surgeon’s Office with the help of UNICEF along with the district’s media workers.
Various information related to vaccination was presented in the workshop by Joypurhat Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Al Mamun, Deputy Director of Joypurhat Islamic Foundation Majedur Rahman, Assistant Director of the Department of Mass Communication (Ministry of Information and Broadcasting) Masriyat Jahan Barsha, District Acting Information Officer Ibrahim Mollah Suman, President of Joypurhat Press Club Abu Bakar Siddique, General Secretary Masud Rana, etc.
The workshop said that under the ongoing program, all children aged 9 months to 15 years or all students from pre-primary to ninth grade (about 2.5 lakh) will be given one dose of vaccine free of charge.
The speakers emphasized the role of the media in preventing rumors on the one hand and creating public awareness on the other hand to ensure the success of vaccination.
