Raiganj (Sirajganj) Correspondent:
Two individuals were apprehended for drug use near the roundabout located 100 yards west of the No. 3 Dhubil Union Parishad office in Raiganj Upazila, Sirajganj.
Around 9:30 PM last night, a joint team consisting of Ansar-VDP members and gram police (village police) on duty in Dhubil Union conducted an operation, detained the two individuals, brought them to the Union Parishad office, and notified the police.
Upon receiving the information, Sub-Inspector (SI) Mahfizul Islam of the Solanga Police Station arrived at the Union Parishad office with his team. A search of the detainees led to the recovery of a packet containing 5 grams of cannabis.
The police subsequently took the two individuals—along with the cannabis and the auto-van they were using—to the police station.
Appropriate legal action under the Narcotics Control Act is currently underway at the Solanga Police Station.
