Ramganj Police have arrested Monir Hossain (26) alias Maya Monir, a fugitive accused convicted in multiple cases including arms and robbery in Ramganj, Lakshmipur. He was arrested from Katakhali Bridge area of Kanchanpur Union No. 1 of the upazila on Monday night.
Monir Hossain is the son of the late Shafiqul Islam of Chandipur Ali Munshi Bari (Thakur Bari) of Ramganj Police Station.
Ramganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Abdul Bari said that there are multiple cases against the arrested Maya Monir, including arms, robbery, theft and narcotics. The court issued a warrant against him in these cases and currently there are four warrants in his name. He had been on the run for a long time. He was arrested from the base of Katakhali Bridge after conducting a drive based on secret information.
The arrested accused will be sent to court today, Tuesday.
