Today, on September 20, the much-awaited Ramganj Upazila and Municipality BNP council of Lakshmipur district is going to be held. On this occasion, every alley of the city has been decorated with banners and posters. A festive atmosphere prevails among the leaders and activists. This is the first time that the Upazila and Municipality BNP council is going to be held through direct voting. This council will be held through direct voting of Trinamool voters. The voting will continue from 3 pm to 5 pm. Their desired leaders will be elected by direct voting for the posts of President, General Secretary and Organizing Secretary.
On this occasion, an election management committee has been formed at the initiative of the District BNP. The schedule was announced on September 3. According to the announced schedule, the final list of candidates was published last Sunday (September 14) at the local Zia Auditorium after distribution, submission, verification and allocation of symbols among the candidates. There are 2 candidates for the post of Upazila President, 2 for the post of General Secretary and 4 for the post of Organizing Secretary. There are 3 candidates for the post of Municipality President, 3 for the post of General Secretary and 5 for the post of Organizing Secretary. In the said election, the Upazila leader will be elected by 710 councilors of 10 unions and the leader at the Municipality level will be elected by 710 councilors of 10 wards of the Municipality.
Mozammel Haque Moju (umbrella), Shahabuddin Turki (chair), Monowar Hossain GS (rooster) and VP Abdur Rahim (wall clock) are contesting for the post of Upazila BNP President, Abul Bashar Satu (fish), Nazrul Islam Pintu (football), Mohibur Rahman Patwari (tube well), Amjad Hossain (mango) are contesting with the mark.
Sheikh Mohammad Kamruzzaman (umbrella), Ismail Hossain Bengal (chair), Advocate Tofazzal Hossain Bachchu (pineapple) are contesting for the post of President of the Municipal BNP, Tofail Ahmed (wall clock), Md. Alamgir Hossain Mia (rooster), Gias Uddin Palash (dowat-pen) are contesting for the post of General Secretary. In addition, Aurangzeb Bablu (football), Md. Rezaul Karim (mango), Iqbal Chowdhury (fish), Mizanur Rahman Miron (tubewell), Wabed Ullah (ladder) are contesting for the post of Organizing Secretary. There is great enthusiasm among the BNP leaders and activists surrounding the election.
