Patnitala 14 BGB of Naogaon rescued 16 Bangladeshi nationals pushed by BSF. At approximately 5 am on August 19, 16 nationals were pushed into Bangladesh by BSF from India near the border pillar 254/1-S of Shitalamath BOP under Patnitala Battalion (14 BGB) in the early hours of the morning.
The nationals pushed into Bangladesh by the BGB patrol team were arrested from next to a tea shop adjacent to the paved road of Ghurki village in the border area. The addresses of the arrested persons are as follows: (a) Md. Motaleb Sheikh (45), (b) Md. Shafiqul Islam (35), (c) Md. Majnu Biswas (48), (d) Md. Nayan Khan (25), (e) Md. Mukul Sheikh (25), (f) Md. Mridhul Sheikh (20), (g) Md. Samir (11), (h) Md. Bina Khatun (29), (j) Md. Mim (08), (j) Md. Maryam Khatun (10), (k) Md. Rozina Khatun (18), (l) Md. Mira Khatun (8 months), (m) Md. Elina Khatun (28), (z) Md. Jannatul Sarkar (10), (o) Md. Joshana Begum (50) District: Natore and (t) Md. Miraj Sheikh (18), District-Pabna.
Initial interrogation of the arrested persons revealed that they had gone to India through the Rajshahi border several years ago. To get detailed information about the arrested persons, Patnitala Police contacted the mentioned police station and verified their Bangladeshi national identity cards and birth registration certificates through the local chairman and their relatives, confirming their citizenship. Later, they were handed over to Patnitala Police Station.
Patnitala Battalion (14 BGB) is always committed to continuing all-out operations including increasing operations against cattle/drug smuggling/illegal border crossing and smuggling at the Naogaon and Joypurhat borders.
