3 smugglers arrested for illegal entry at Poladanga border

BGB has arrested three Bangladeshi smugglers in a raid in the area under the responsibility of JK Poladanga BOP under Mahananda Battalion (59 BGB).

Today, Monday (16 September 2025) at around 4 am, a smart patrol team of BGB conducted a raid 50 yards inside Bangladesh from border pillar 201/59-S. The arrested are –

Md. Shamim Hossain (27), father: Md. Emtazul, village: Chaudala, police station: Gomostapur. Shri Palash Karmakar (23), father: Sanjay Karmakar, village: Chaudala, police station: Gomostapur. Md. Mizanur Rahman (23), father: Md. Chattar, village: Shibnarayanpur, police station: Shibganj.

According to the BGB, the arrested persons entered the interior of India by boat and crossed over for the purpose of smuggling. BGB arrested them while returning. 3 button mobile phones and 70 Indian rupees were seized from them.

A case of illegal entry has been filed against the detainees and they have been handed over to Bholahat Police Station. Mahananda Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria confirmed the matter.
