Rajbari’s son Bilal tragically dies in Malaysia

The body of construction worker Billal Mollah (30), who died after being crushed by a concrete bucket rope used for building construction in Malaysia, has arrived at his village home in Rajbari.

When his body arrived at his home in Hatjoypur village of Basantapur union in Rajbari Sadar at around 9 am on Monday (September 15), the sky became heavy with the cries and wails of relatives and neighbors. Locals gathered to see him for the last time.

Billal is the son of Jabbar Mollah of Hatjoypur village. Earlier, the accident occurred in Johor Bahru area of ​​Malaysia at around 7 pm on Monday (September 8), Bangladesh time.

It is learned that Billal Mollah migrated to Malaysia in July 2023 in search of a livelihood. There, he worked as a construction worker at a construction site in Johor Bahru area. On the evening of September 8, Billal was standing downstairs, loading concrete buckets with cement and sending it to the building via a crane. While he was working on the bucket, Billal started talking to his four-year-old daughter Oishee.

In the meantime, the crane brought an empty bucket, so he hung up the phone. Then Billal loaded the bucket with cement and sent it to the building again. But the bucket did not go up. It broke on his chest. He was crushed and died on the spot. Just a few minutes after talking to his daughter, the expatriate father’s life light went out.

When his body arrived at his home in Hatjoypur village of Basantapur union in Rajbari Sadar on Monday, the sky was heavy with the cries and wails of relatives and neighbors. The silence of four-year-old Oishee added to the grief.

Later, at 11 am, after the namaz-e-janaza of Billal at the Eidgah ground adjacent to Basantpur Railway Station, he was buried in the graveyard in front of the Eidgah. Billal’s father Jabbar Molla said, “My son died and I became destitute. The owner for whom he worked has sent some money.”
