The police have arrested Aminul Islam Nayan, the alleged master agent of an online gambling ring in Magura. He was arrested from Vitasair Markas Masjidpara area of Magura Sadar Upazila around 11:30 pm on Thursday.
The arrested Aminul Islam Nayan is the son of Laltu Sikder of Vitasair area of Magura Sadar Upazila.
On Friday, July 10, 2026, Magura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Mamun said that initial investigation revealed that the accused had been assisting players involved in online gambling, which was conducted through a VPN-based server, in financial transactions for a long time.
5 lakh 95 thousand 577 taka and 98 thousand 620 taka were identified in the bKash and other mobile financial services (MFS) accounts controlled by the accused and 1xBet app. In total, transaction information worth a total of 6 lakh 94 thousand 177 taka was found.
The OC further said that a case has been filed under the Prevention of Gambling Act, 2026 after verifying the source of the money involved, the nature of the transaction and its involvement with online gambling.
He said that the operation will continue to identify and arrest more members of this gang through digital forensic examination and financial transaction analysis.
