A preparatory meeting was held in Joypurhat on the occasion of the autumn Durgotsav. The meeting was held on Sunday afternoon at the conference room of the Joypurhat Deputy Commissioner, organized by the district administration.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Afroza Akhtar Chowdhury and was attended by Joypurhat Police Superintendent Muhammad Abdul Wahab, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bipul Kumar, BGB Captain, District Council Executive Officer Mahmudul Hasan, District BNP Convener Golzar Hossain, District Jamaat Ameer Fazlur Rahman Sayeed, NCP Joint Coordinator Omar Ali Babu, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Rashedul Islam, Akkelpur Upazila Executive Officer Manjurul Alam, Kalai Upazila Executive Officer Shamima Akhter Jahan, Khetlal Upazila Executive Officer Asif Al Jinat, Panchbibi Upazila Executive Officer Romana Riaz, Municipal Executive Officer Abu Zafar Md. Reza, Puja Celebration Council President Adv. Hrishikesh Sarkar, Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council Convener Nanda Kishore Agarwala, and others.
The number of puja mandap is 117 in Joypurhat Sadar Upazila, 73 in Panchbibi, 37 in Akkelpur, 32 in Kalai, and 40 in Khetlal, a total of 299 temples will host the autumn Durga Puja.
