Nurul Islam Nahid elected as president and Saiful Islam as general secretary of Saltha Press Club

The election of Saltha Press Club of Faridpur district was held today, Saturday.

Md. Nurul Islam Nahid, a correspondent of the Daily Kaler Kanth newspaper, was elected as the president, and Saiful Islam, a correspondent of the Daily Samakal, was elected as the general secretary.

Voting was held from 10 am to 1 pm today, Saturday (September 13), and the results were announced shortly after.

Nurul Islam Nahid received 12 votes for the post of president, his closest rival was the Daily Khola Kagoj, and Channel S, TV correspondent Md. Abu Nasir Hussain, who received 11 votes.

The winner of the post of general secretary, was the Daily Samakal correspondent Md. Saiful Islam, who received 17 votes. And his closest rival was the Daily Ajkalek Khabor newspaper correspondent Monir Molla, who received 6 votes. Among other posts, Harun Or Rashid, a correspondent of Bangla News24.com and Daily Inqilab, was elected as the vice-president by receiving 18 votes.

In addition, Liaquat Hossain Miah, a correspondent of the Daily Palli Bangla newspaper, Md. Azizur Rahman (Aziz), a correspondent of the Daily Dinkal, and Md. Rezaul Karim, a correspondent of the Daily Naya Diganta, were elected as vice-presidents.
Md. Mosharraf Hossain Masud, a correspondent of the Daily Sangbad newspaper, was elected as the finance editor.

Md. Shariful Islam, a correspondent of the Daily Jugantor newspaper, was elected as the Jamuna general secretary, Md. Lablu Mia, a correspondent of the Daily Shomor Alo newspaper, was elected as the ten editors, Md. Parvez Mia, a correspondent of the Daily Pratidin Kagoj newspaper, was elected as the cultural and sports affairs editor, Nizam Talukder, a correspondent of the Daily Samaj Bani, was elected as the literary and library editor, and Akash Saha, a correspondent of the Daily Kalbela, was elected as the publicity and publication editor, unopposed.

On the other hand, MQ Hussain Bulbul, a correspondent for Daily Jay Zay Din and Daily Observer, Shariful Hasan, a correspondent for Daily Manabzamin, and Zakir Hossain, a correspondent for Daily Ittefaq, were elected unopposed as executive members.
