National Social Service Day 2026 celebrated in Birampur

“Technology and compassion, trust in welfare and equality in social service today”—National Social Service Day 2026 was celebrated in Birampur Upazila of Dinajpur with due dignity and festive atmosphere.

On the occasion of the day, a discussion meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad Conference Room on Saturday (January 03, 2026) at 11 am organized by the Upazila Administration and Upazila Social Service Office, Birampur. Upazila Agriculture Officer Kamal Krishna Roy presided over the meeting.

Upazila Social Service Officer Abdul Awal delivered the welcome speech at the discussion meeting. In his speech, he highlighted the scope of work of the Social Service Department in providing services to the people in various fields. Present at the time were RMO of Upazila Health Complex and Dr. Shahriar Parvez, Upazila Election Officer Jobayer Hossain, Founder of Birampur Autistic and Handicapped School Golam Mostafa, Technical Officer of Lamb Birampur Ratan Das, etc.

The speakers at the discussion meeting said that the activities of the Department of Social Services are very important for the welfare of the backward and helpless people of the society. They called on everyone to work together to make social service activities more dynamic and people-friendly through the use of technology and the combination of human values.

The speakers also said that the role of social service is undeniable in ensuring equality and justice-based welfare in the society. In this regard, the joint participation of the government, public representatives and people from all levels of society is necessary.

On the occasion of the day, various NGOs and people of different classes and professions of the upazila, beneficiaries and officials and employees of the concerned departments participated.
