Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Dal (BNP) has received official permission from the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner to organize a reception on the occasion of the historic homecoming of BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman.
BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter on Sunday (December 21) night. He said that BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman will return to the country on December 25 after spending 17 years in exile in London, UK.
Shayrul Kabir Khan said, “Written permission has been received from the concerned authorities to organize a reception on the occasion of the party’s acting chairman Tariq Rahman’s homecoming.”
He also said that Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury sent the permission letter to Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP at around 8:30 pm on Saturday.
It was informed on behalf of BNP, Zahid Hossain, the staff of the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner’s office went directly to the central office of BNP located in Nayapaltan of the capital and delivered the permission letter. Sattar Patwari, member of BNP’s central committee and in-charge of the office, accepted the letter there.
According to the party sources, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the party leaders and workers around the return of Tariq Rahman and BNP is making various preparations around the reception ceremony.
