Referring to the upcoming election as a historic responsibility for all, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus urged the District Superintendents of Police to play a role in organizing a beautiful and acceptable election by taking this responsibility as a challenge.
He made this call today in an exchange meeting with the newly appointed Superintendents of Police of 64 districts at the Chief Adviser’s office in Tejgaon.
The Chief Adviser said that this election is not a general election, this election is in return for the sacrifice of those who were martyred in the July uprising.
He said, we dreamed of a new Bangladesh through the popular uprising. We will take that dream forward through the upcoming elections.
He also said that the referendum will be held simultaneously during the upcoming general elections, which will serve as the foundation for building the future Bangladesh. The new foundation we get through the referendum will take this nation forward for centuries.

The chief adviser said that many delegations and election observers will come from abroad in the upcoming elections. Superintendents of Police should work for this purpose so that they can present this election as an excellent example to the whole world.
The chief adviser said, we all have seen the past elections. Some call it an election of farce, some call it an election of deception and pranks. From there, we have to go much higher and create a new standard.
The Chief Advisor mentioned that it is the major responsibility of the police force to bring about that change.
Emphasizing on the initiative and creativity of the officials in making the next election fair and beautiful, the Chief Advisor said, ‘Everything cannot be written on paper. While performing the duties, you will think, how to do the work more beautifully.
He mentioned that there can be competition among the members at the district or departmental level to improve the quality of work of the policemen and to increase the joy of work. He also suggested that reward can be arranged in this case.
