Two arrested with huge quantity of drugs in separate operations by Patnitala Battalion (14 BGB) in Panchbibi and Dhamairhat

Two smugglers with a large quantity of narcotics were arrested at the Dhamairhat and Panchbibi borders of Naogaon.
On December 1, at 0030 hours, a special patrol led by the patrol commander of Kariya BOP, Nayek Md. Abdur Rahim, conducted an operation at a place called Lokmagram, approximately 300 yards inside Bangladesh from the border pillar 278 MP, and was able to seize 49 bottles of narcotic cough syrup without an owner. The total seizure value is 19,600/- Taka. It is to be noted that the smugglers, sensing the presence of the BGB, fled due to the darkness of the night.

On 01 December at 1030 hrs, a special patrol team led by Patrol Commander Subedar Md. Sultan Khan of Bastabor BOP conducted a raid in Katna village area, approximately 1.2 km inside Bangladesh from Border Pillar 263 MP, and was able to arrest 01 smuggler Md. Masud Rana (30), father Md. Mosharraf Hossain, village-Chatankuri, post-Farsipara, police station-Dhamirhat and district-Naogaon, along with 21 pieces of Indian narcotic Tapentadol tablets. Total Caesar value-4,200/- Taka. The arrested smuggler was immediately sentenced to 06 (six) months of non-compulsory imprisonment by the Mobile Executive Magistrate (whose case no.-14, dated 01 December 2025).

On 01 December at 1330 hrs, a special patrol team led by Nayek Md. Abdur Rahim, Patrol Commander of Kariya BOP, conducted a raid in the Paril village area, approximately 1.5 km inside Bangladesh from Border Pillar 279 MP, and was able to arrest 01 smuggler Md. Sohel (34), father Md. Enamul, village-Daripara, post-Dhalahar, Thana-Joypurhat and district-Joypurhat, along with 02 bottles of narcotic cough syrup, 01 motorcycle, 01 mobile and Bangladeshi cash-2575/- Taka. Total seizure value-1,83,375/- Taka. In addition, 01 smuggler fled after sensing the presence of the patrol team. A case has been filed against the arrested and absconding accused at Dhamairhat Police Station and the process of handing over the goods to the police is under process.

Commander, Patnitala Battalion Lt. Col. Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, PBGM, PBGMS, has pledged to continue all-out operations against cattle/drug smuggling/illegal border crossing and smuggling at the Naogaon and Joypurhat borders.
