Raslila or Ras Yatra is an annual festival of the Sanatan Dharma followers. Ras is basically a religious festival held in the Vaishnavite tradition in imitation of the Brajalila of Sri Krishna. Ras Mela is a traditional religious festival of the Hindu religion, which is mainly celebrated as a sign of devotion to Lord Krishna. Ras Mela is mainly celebrated in memory of Krishna’s “Raslila”. The specialty of the festival is that it is held on the full moon night of the month of Kartik. There is a frenzy around the 400-year-old Ras festival of the Raychowdhury family at Baruipur Rasmath. A month-long fair and circus are the main attractions of Rasmath.
Raychowdhury’s house was the landowner’s house where this Ras Puja used to be held. The Ras Puja tradition is still maintained. On the occasion of this Ras, three days are celebrated, the first day is Rakhal Besh, the second day is Natobar Besh and the third day is Raj Besh, the third day is Raj Besh. On the occasion of Ras, a month-long fair is held at this Ras ground, and the main attraction of Ras is the circus.
This fair lasts for a month. Winter has arrived. And winter means plenty of food, drink, and entertainment. And at the beginning of winter, the circus has started at Baruipur Rasmatha like every year. The fair has started for a month, keeping in mind the Ras festival on the occasion of the four hundred-year-old Ras Yatra of the Rai Chaudhuri landlords of Baruipur. And the main attraction of this fair is the circus. Animals, birds, and animals are now circuses. However, there is no shortage of circus lovers for this.
Circus is a kind of special entertainment center or entertainment process. Through it, young and old people are fully aware of pure joy and fascinating things. A specially trained person participates in the circus. They perform or present multiple skills including physical exercises, special arts and techniques, clowning, pantomime, and tightrope walking.
This year, on Friday evening, the Rajdhani Circus was officially inaugurated by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Biman Banerjee at the Baruipur Rasa ground. Also present were Baruipur Municipality Chairman Shakti Roy Chowdhury, Baruipur Panchayat Samity President Kanan Das, and several councilors of the municipality. They have come up with multiple entertainment games in this circus.
The audience will be impressed by what they see. The circus will continue for the next month, said the circus manager Nur Islam Mandal. He also said that you will see multiple new games here. There will be three shows every day. Inaugurating this circus today, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Biman Banerjee said, “The circus has been my favorite since I was a child. That’s why I still go to the circus whenever I get time.”
