Farmers in Thakurgaon have been left in despair after 24 hours of continuous rain. The continuous rain has submerged paddy, potato and vegetable fields in the fields. This has raised fears of crop loss in various parts of the district.
Motaleb Hossain, a farmer from Bhawanipur village in Ranishankail upazila, said, “The paddy was ripe, I had fixed the day to harvest it. But this rain has ruined everything. The paddy in the fields is now completely under water.” In this situation, farmers say that if the sun does not rise soon, it will be impossible to harvest the crops.

The same picture was seen in the fields of Haripur, Baliadangi and Pirganj upazilas. The continuous rain has caused extensive damage to paddy and vegetables on many hectares of land in the district.
According to Thakurgaon Agriculture Office sources, the continuous rain has damaged crops on more than a hundred hectares of land in various upazilas of the district. Officials said that initiatives will be taken to help the affected farmers after determining the extent of the damage.
Meanwhile, due to the rain, rural roads have become impassable due to mud and waterlogging. Many markets and markets have become deserted. As a result, the suffering of the common people has also increased manifold.
