A jhut warehouse has been burnt to ashes in a terrible fire in the Dakshin Bhangnahati area of Sreepur Municipality in Gazipur.
A fire broke out in the warehouse named Kamal Enterprise owned by local Kamal Hossain at around 4 am today (October 28). Upon receiving the news, two units of the Sreepur Fire Service went to the spot and brought the fire under control after an hour of effort.
The affected businessman Kamal Hossain said that he was not in the area. He had gone out of Gazipur on urgent work. He suddenly received news of the fire early in the morning. Later, he informed the Fire Service. It is necessary to investigate whether anyone has damaged his establishment due to the dispute.
Inspector of the Sreepur Station of the Fire Service, Mahmudul Hasan, said that upon receiving the news early in the morning, the Fire Service personnel quickly went to the spot and started working to control the fire. It took about half an hour to bring the fire under control. It took a lot of effort to completely extinguish the pieces of cloth and paper boxes. The fire was completely extinguished around 9 am. There were no casualties. However, most of the goods in the warehouse were burnt in the fire. The cause of the fire was not initially known.
Sreepur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Barik said, “Police were sent to the scene after receiving information about the fire. If the victim makes any application, the matter will be investigated.”
