2 killed, including pedestrian and driver, in motorcycle accident in Noakhali

Two people, including a driver and a pedestrian, died in a reckless motorcycle accident in Sonaimuri, Noakhali.

The deceased are motorcycle driver Md. Mamun (30), son of Md. Rafiq of Bylla Bari of Kotbaria village of Sonapur union of the upazila, and pedestrian Shamsher Saha (55), son of the late Sitaram Saha of Deori Bari of Mirwarishpur union of Begumganj upazila.

Chandraganj Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mobarak Hossain Bhuiyan confirmed the matter on Sunday (October 26) morning. Earlier, the accident occurred in the Bajra Afania area of ​​the Noakhali-Comilla Highway regional highway at around 10:15 pm on Saturday.

According to police and local sources, Shamsher Saha got off the CNG-powered auto-rickshaw at around 10:15 pm on Saturday. At that time, he set off for home on foot. At that time, a motorcycle from Sonaimurigrami to Chaumuhi intersection hit him in the Bajra Afania area of ​​the Noakhali-Comilla regional highway. In this, the motorcycle driver Mamun and pedestrian Shamser were seriously injured. Local people immediately rescued them and took them to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.

Chandraganj Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mobarak Hossain Bhuiyan further said that after receiving the information, the police visited the scene. No complaint has been filed by any party yet. The body has been handed over to the family of the deceased.
