A van driver named Mosharraf Hossain Musa was hacked to death by miscreants in Kushtia Sadar Upazila. The incident took place on Saturday night in Shantidanga village of Harinarayanpur union of the upazila.
On Sunday (October 19) morning, the Islamic University (IB) police recovered the body and sent it to the Kushtia General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The deceased, Mosharraf Hossain Musa (55), is the son of the deceased Akbar Mandal of Shantidanga village. He was a van driver by profession. He was sleeping on the veranda of his residence on Saturday night as usual. At that time, miscreants hacked him to death.

According to police and local sources, miscreants committed the murder sometime on Saturday night. In the early hours of the morning, the family members came out and saw Musa’s bloody body.
Family members said that he was killed in a planned manner due to a past enmity. We demand exemplary punishment for those involved in this incident.
The deceased’s daughter Shikha said, “My father could never be killed so brutally for vandalism. He was killed due to a past enmity. She demanded the maximum punishment for those involved in this murder.”
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Islamic University Police Station Mehdi Hasan said, “The deceased’s face was hit with a sharp object like a razor blade. Such a brutal murder could not have been committed just for vandalism. Because then the criminals would have taken the van. The police are working on the matter. The criminals will be arrested soon.”
