Drug kingpin Mosha. Shipra Khatun and her husband Md. Babul Hossain have been arrested in a joint operation by the army and police in the Chuadanga municipality area along with a huge amount of yaba and cash. There are about two dozen drug cases against Shipra Khatun.
The operation was conducted at around 7:00 pm on Thursday (October 9) in the Buzruk Gargari Ziya Para area of Ward No. 2 of Chuadanga Municipality. The arrested Shipra Khatun is the wife of Md. Babul Hossain of that area and Babul Hossain is the son of the deceased Abul Hossain.
According to sources at the Chuadanga army camp, a joint operation was conducted from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm under the leadership of Captain Manjurul Rahman Masfi based on secret information. Shipra and her husband Babul were arrested in the operation.
Later, based on the information provided by them, 1,708 pieces of Yaba, 3 lakh 16 thousand 667 taka in cash for selling Yaba, 2 Android mobiles and 5 button mobile phones were recovered from their residence.
The arrested were handed over to Chuadanga Sadar Police Station at 8:30 pm after the official activities of the army and police.
Army camp sources further said that such operations of the Bangladesh Army will continue in the future to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of the people.
The public is requested to inform the nearest army camp or law enforcement agencies about criminal activities.
