The house of former national cricket team captain Shakib Al Hasan in Magura was vandalized, petrol thrown and set on fire.
The incident took place at around 9 pm on Wednesday (August 5).

Eyewitnesses and local sources claim that a group of miscreants attacked Shakib Al Hasan’s house immediately after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s online speech.

At that time, they threw petrol at the main gate of the house and set it on fire. Two cocktails were thrown and three glass balconies of the house were damaged by bricks. Police recovered cocktails and plastic bottles at the scene.
Magura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the matter.

He said that the miscreants set the house on fire and also exploded cocktails. The glass windows of the house were broken by the bricks. However, no family members were present at the house at the time of the incident.

Upon receiving the information, law enforcement officials quickly reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Additional police are currently deployed there.
