Centered around the theme “Let us start from home and build a disaster-resilient nation,” a fire-fighting drill and discussion meeting were held on Tuesday (October 13, 2026) at 10:00 AM on the Upazila administration premises in Bholahat, Chapainawabganj. Prior to this, a colorful rally paraded through the main roads of the Upazila and concluded at the same venue.
Subsequently, a team from the Bholahat Fire Service demonstrated various educational techniques and methods regarding fire-fighting for local students and the general public. Speakers at the event emphasized that this information is essential for everyone to know.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Nahid Hossain attended the rally, fire-fighting drill, and discussion meeting as the chief guest. Special guests included Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Sanaul Morshed; Agriculture Officer (Agriculturist) Md. Sultan Ali; Social Services Officer Md. Nasim Uddin; Sadar Union Parishad Chairman Alhaj Md. Piyar Jahan; UP Panel Chairmen Md. Samun Reza Tanu (Member), Alhaj Md. Mozammel Haque Chutu, and Md. Afaz Uddin Panu Miah; UP Secretary Md. Mazharul Islam; Bholahat Fire Service In-charge Sri Krishna Kumar Talapatra; and PIO Office Assistant-cum-Computer Typist Md. Ashraful Islam.
Additionally, on this International Day for Disaster Reduction, Upazila administration officials and staff, local dignitaries, and students and teachers from various schools and colleges were present to hear the chief guest, UNO Md. Nahid Hossain, speak about the significance of the day.
