Daudkandi Model Police Station in Comilla recovered 4,620 pieces of Yaba, 7.5 kg of marijuana and a private car in a separate special operation. At the same time, the police arrested a total of seven accused, including two in a drug case, three in a robbery case and two people with CR and GR arrest warrants.
On Thursday (July 30), Daudkandi Model Police Station sources said that these accused were arrested and drugs were recovered in a separate operation conducted under the direction of Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Sajedul Islam.
According to the police station sources, on Wednesday (July 29) at around 10:30 pm, SI Minhajul Islam along with his forces conducted a drive in the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in front of the Gouripur Upazila Health Complex and recovered 3,680 pieces of Yaba and 7.5 kg of marijuana. Two drug dealers named Hridoy Hossain (26) and Taslima (25) were arrested.
In addition, at 5:50 am on Thursday, SI Rizwanul Islam conducted a raid on the Dhaka-bound lane on the west side of the new toll plaza of the Meghna-Gomti Bridge and recovered 940 pieces of Yaba and a private car abandoned in the incident. However, no one could be arrested in this incident.
On the other hand, at around 3:30 am on the same day, three accused in a robbery case—Zakir Hossain Rana (39), Dulal Sharif (46) and Rubel Mia (38)—were arrested in a raid in the Gouripur area.
In addition, in a separate raid, the police arrested Md. Habib (38) and Md. Parusha, who were listed under a GR arrest warrant, and Md. Parusha, who were listed under a CR arrest warrant.
Daudkandi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Sajedul Islam Palash confirmed the truth of the matter and said that after taking legal action against the arrested accused, they have been sent to court. The police’s special operation to curb drugs, terrorism and crime will continue.
