Youth with Yaba arrested in BGB operation in Jibannagar

In a successful anti-drug operation in Jibannagar Upazila of Chuadanga district, 46 Border Guard Battalion (BGB) has arrested a youth with Yaba. He was arrested from the area under the responsibility of Jibannagar BOP on Wednesday (September 10, 2025) night.

BGB sources said that based on a secret tip-off, a patrol team of Jibannagar BOP under Maheshpur 46 BGB conducted the operation. At around 12:33 am, a youth was stopped while roaming suspiciously on the paved road near the raw market of Peyaratla village under Jibannagar police station.

When he was searched under the leadership of BGB patrol team Havildar Md. Abul Hossain, 50 pieces of Yaba tablets and a smartphone were found hidden with him. The name of the arrested youth is Md. Sumon Ali (28). He is a resident of Old Lakshmipur village. His father’s name is Md. Jahidul Haque.

The arrested Suman and the seized narcotics and mobile phones have been handed over to Jibannagar Police Station. BGB has confirmed that a regular case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act at Jibannagar Police Station in this regard.

The BGB further said that their operation to prevent drug smuggling in the border areas will continue. They are following a zero tolerance policy especially against drugs like Yaba and marijuana. The common people of the area have expressed satisfaction with this successful operation of the BGB and requested them to continue such operations in the future.
