Rangpur Correspondent:
The Metropolitan Jubo Dal held a welcome procession in Rangpur on the occasion of the return of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. On Thursday evening, the procession, with the participation of leaders and workers from 33 wards of the city, started from the Town Hall premises and circled the main roads of the city.
The welcome procession, led by Metropolitan Jubo Dal convener Nurunnabi Chowdhury Milon, member secretary Atiqul Islam Lelin and senior joint convener Zahir Alam Nayan, ended at the Town Hall. Among others, Rangpur Metropolitan Jubo Dal joint convener Rafiqul Islam Mithu, joint convener Wahed Murad and others were also present in the procession.
After the welcome procession, the leaders said that Tarique Rahman played a leading role in the fall of the previous fascist dictatorial government. Under his instructions from far away London, the party leaders and workers have actively worked in the anti-discrimination movement. In the current crisis of the country, Tarique Rahman has become a symbol of brave and visionary leadership before the nation. His leadership against injustice means an uncompromising stance, restoring people's voting rights and freedom of speech. People across the country are ready to welcome him on December 25.
We are counting the days when he will come to the country and take responsibility for fulfilling the aspirations of this nation by becoming the voice of their hearts. Earlier, on the occasion of Tarique Rahman's historic return to his homeland, a view-exchange meeting and a greeting procession were held at the Town Hall Auditorium under the initiative of Rangpur Metropolitan Jubo Dal.
