The Kalai Police Station has arrested Monowar Hossain (32), son of notorious thief Ismail Hossain of Talukdarpara Mohalla of Kalai Municipality in Joypurhat, and Sujan (34), son of deceased Tota Mia of Kathail Mohalla, Ward No. 8 of the Municipality.
They were caught red-handed while stealing cash and gold ornaments from the house of Ward No. 9 Councilor Sirajul Islam Talukdar of the Municipality last night.
Locals said that these two had been involved in theft, robbery and various criminal activities in the area for a long time. Finally, with the cooperation of the police and the public, they were caught red-handed.
