Two journalists were injured in a motorcycle-truck collision in Nasirnagar Upazila Sadar of Brahmanbaria district on Wednesday (November 26) night.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred at Dhankura village of Nasir Nagar Upazila Sadar Union at around 9 pm on their way home from Brahmanbaria district headquarters after finishing work at the local press club. The motorcycle collided with a truck parked in the dark on the side of the road. The injured were taken to the emergency department of the Upazila Health Complex. After receiving the necessary treatment, they were sent home.
The injured are Babu Chandan Kumar Deb, upazila correspondent of Daily Banglabazar and Manabkantha, and Mozammel Haque Sabuj, correspondent of Daily Sangbad and general secretary of Nasir Nagar Press Club.
Upon receiving the news of the accident, local journalists and police rushed to the scene and hospital and inquired about the treatment of the injured. Nasirnagar Upazila Press Club Acting President Asmat Ali, members Ashikur Rahman Poni, Abdul Kadersentu, Sumon Gop and Journalists Forum President Rakib Chauh, Vice President Md. Saiful Islam, General Secretary Tofazzal Mia, Organizing Secretary Mamun and other journalists were also present at the hospital. Doctors said that the condition of the injured is now stable.
