Traditional leaf game held in Thakurgaon Haripur

Pat Khel, an integral part of the heritage and culture of rural Bengal, was held at the Haripur Karbala Mini Stadium in Thakurgaon. The traditional game, which was held at 5 pm on Friday (October 10, 2025), was inaugurated by Md. Rafiqul Islam, Chairman of Union Parishad No. 5 of Haripur.

Union Parishad member Moksed Ali and other UP members were present at the opening ceremony. The game was conducted by Mohammad Tariqul Islam, Rezaul Karim and Md. Shah Alam. Players from different areas took to the field under their skillful management.

While modern means of entertainment have spread widely in villages, the traditional Pat Khel still survives in the hearts of rural people. Every moment of the game was a festival of thrill and joy. The players’ skills and skills captivated the audience, and the entire stadium area was filled with laughter and joy.

According to the organizers, through such events, the young generation not only gets entertainment, but also gets the opportunity to get acquainted with rural traditions and culture. These games, which smell of the soil of rural Bengal, are a priceless asset of our culture.

At the end of the games, the guests presented prizes to the winners.
