World Homeopathy Day is being celebrated around the world on April 10. This day is celebrated every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of the German physician Samuel Hahnemann, the father of homeopathy.

Dr. Hahnemann was born on this day in 1755 in Meissen, Germany. He brought a new perspective to medical science and laid the foundation for an alternative medical system called homeopathy. The essence of the medical principle he invented was “like cures like”—meaning that a substance that can cause specific symptoms in a healthy person’s body can be used to cure the same disease in very small doses.

Homeopathy is widely practiced in different countries of the world today. On the occasion of the day, seminars, scientific discussions, rallies, free medical camps and awareness programs are being held in different countries. Doctors and researchers emphasize the development, research and proper application of homeopathy on this day.

In Bangladesh, various homeopathy organizations and medical associations organize discussions, rallies and free medical services on the occasion of the day. It highlights the effectiveness, safety and public awareness of homeopathy treatment.

According to experts, many people around the world are showing interest in homeopathy treatment due to its relatively low side effects and long-standing experience. As a result, its popularity as an alternative treatment method is gradually increasing.
