Jamaat MP from Joypurhat-1 constituency Fazlur Rahman Sayeed has commented that there is no alternative to implementing a true referendum to build a corruption-free country. He said these things at a mass procession and rally called by 11-party unity at Shaheed Doctor Abul Kashem Maidan on Saturday afternoon to implement the referendum verdict, establish democracy, justice, good governance and people's rights.
In his speech at the rally, MP Fazlur Rahman Sayeed highlighted the historical context of the country and said that the people of Bengal have been cheated time and again. Even though the people gave their verdict in 1947 with the slogan of running the country on the basis of the Quran and Sunnah, it was not implemented. After 24 years, this nation liberated the country by giving its life to establish the right to rice and vote on the call of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. But after coming to power, he killed democracy and established a one-party rule, which the nation rejected. He said that the people of this country have been cheated repeatedly because the promises made after repeated movements were not implemented.
Referring to the recent mass uprising, he said that there was a dictatorship in 1990 and an anti-fascist movement in 2002. Although the government did not fall in major political movements in the last 15 years, the dictatorship fell in the 36-day student-public movement. But after the formation of the interim government, they did not keep the decisions made in the committee to implement the July Charter. Although they now talk about implementing the charter letter by letter, in reality, the July Charter that has been printed by the government by strategically omitting the main decisions is not correct. He alleged that even though they accepted the demands for temporary benefits, now they are saying it is unrealistic. These cheaters who deceived the nation in the beginning will not be able to do any good to the nation.

Regarding the current situation, he said that the demand of all those who have protested on the ground, including Jamaat-e-Islami, especially the youth and NDP, is the same today - the people's vote of the July movement must be implemented. Mentioning corruption, extortion and drugs as the biggest problems in the country, he said that it is easy to find them; because these crimes and drug trade are not possible without the shelter of those in power. Calling for an immediate end to corruption and extortion, he said that people have given their blood not to look at the eyes of an extortionist.
Giving a stern warning to the government, MP Fazlur Rahman Sayeed said that thousands of students and the public did not give their blood to put a fraudster in power. If the people's vote is not implemented and crimes are not stopped, the people will not accept you. If the nation is cheated again, this nation will take to the streets again. He mentioned that he had repeatedly said this in Parliament that the government has changed in the 17-year movement and the nation does not want to see any corrupt person. Calling for caution while there is still time, he said that the people should be evaluated and a country free from corruption and extortion should be built. He announced that he would not withdraw from this street movement until the real verdict of the people's movement is implemented.
District Jamaat Secretary Golam Kibria, Assistant Secretary Advocate Mamunur Rashid, Rashedul Alam Sabuj, Joint Convener of District Nagorik Party Golam Kabir, Secretary of District Khelafat Majlis Anwar Hossain, among others, also spoke at the rally organized under the banner of District 11 Party Unity.
