A terrible fire broke out at Bagervita Islamia Dakhil Madrasa in Dhanshail Union of Jhenaigati Upazila of Sherpur. A fire suddenly broke out in the common room of the madrasa and within a moment the entire room was engulfed in flames. Due to the intensity of the fire, everything inside the common room was burnt to ashes.
Locals said that after the fire broke out, they quickly tried to control the fire with water and other means. However, due to the intensity of the fire, it spread quickly. At that time, panic spread in the area due to smoke and flames everywhere.
Till the time of writing, the cause of the fire could not be confirmed. The extent of the damage was also not immediately known. Locals believe that the fire may have started from an electrical short circuit.
It is reported that the common room along with important educational materials, furniture and documents of the madrasa was completely destroyed in the fire.
