Former students of SSC 1996 witnessed an unforgettable and joyful moment in Tanore, Rajshahi. The event was held on Thursday (October 2) from 10 am to 3 pm on the embankment of the Shiv River under the title “Bundhutva Tane, Bhalobashar Bandhne”.
After a long 29 years, classmates from different parts of the country came together. On this memorable day, a lively picnic was organized in the presence of everyone. The gathering was initiated by Md. Azad and Md. Kamal. When everyone met one by one in the morning, an emotional exchange of greetings began. Many became emotional after seeing each other after a long time. The memories of the old school days, various study experiences, sports and cultural moments, and childhood days spent together came back anew.
The list of friends included—Md. Azad, Kamal, Hamidur, Jahangir, Nazim, Mahabur, Shafin, Mashiur, Nantu, Shamim, Pratap, Dipen, Masud, Paritosh, Shahidul, Baby, Ayub, Mostafa and Nargis. All of them have now moved on from their respective positions to established lives. Some are government employees, some are businessmen, some are educators or are serving in various professions. But beyond their professional identities, they all came together around childhood friendship.
There were various arrangements at the day-long picnic. Songs, chats, reminiscences, sports and lunch together—everything seemed to merge into a bond of life. After enjoying the delicious food, everyone expressed their hope for a bigger reunion in the future.
The friends present in the discussion said, “Today’s day will remain indelible in our memories. After a long time, we have returned to our childhood. Such an event needs to be held on a larger scale in the coming days.”
In addition, everyone wished each other good health and longevity from their respective positions and expressed gratitude to the Almighty God.
At the last moment of the reunion, the friends once again promised that they would stand by each other not only professionally but also in human and social responsibility. This reunion was not just a picnic, but a pledge to further strengthen the bond of friendship of 29 years.
