On the first day of the new year, Birampur Upazila of Dinajpur was filled with joy with the excitement of new book pages. New textbooks were handed over to students in various educational institutions of the upazila—which symbolized new dreams, new convictions, and a new beginning.
On Thursday (January 1), at 11:30 am, Upazila Executive Officer Tahmina Sultana Nila officially distributed new books to the students of Birampur Government Girls High School and Government Primary School No. 2. The excited faces of the students upon receiving the books, the sparkle of joy in their eyes—all combined to create an emotional and festive atmosphere.
Present at the event were Upazila Secondary Education Officer Shamsher Ali Mandal, Upazila Assistant Primary Education Officer Al Siraj, Upazila Muktijoddha Command Member Secretary Mostaq Hossain, Birampur Government Girls High School Acting Principal Shahnaz Parveen, Assistant Principal Saiful Islam, Senior Teacher Ashfiqur Rahman Chowdhury and Government Primary School No. 2 Acting Principal Sultan Mahmud along with other teachers.
Receiving new books on the first day of the year creates a different kind of joy among the students. They are turning over the shiny pages of the new book, some are hugging the book to their chests as if dreaming of the future.
This joy is reflected in Birampur Model Government Primary School student Mosha Rokhsana Akhter. After passing the fifth grade and being admitted to Birampur Government Girls High School in the sixth grade, her joy at receiving a new educational institution and new books is overwhelming. With a smile on his face, he said that he is very happy to get a new school and books and dreams of studying hard and achieving good results.
Saiful Islam, assistant headmaster, said that this initiative of getting books in hand at the beginning of the year will increase the interest of students in studying and will have a positive impact on the education system. With the distribution of books, the new year in Birampur began with the message of light, joy and hope of education.
