Strike and sit-in protest demanding speedy implementation of recruitment rules in Palashbari

Palashbari (Gaibandha) Correspondent:

A strike and sit-in program was held to demand the speedy implementation of the recruitment rules for family welfare assistants and family planning inspectors under the Department of Family Planning. The strike and sit-in program was held on Tuesday, December 2nd at noon in the premises of the Palashbari Government Hospital.

Speeches were given by Family Planning Inspector and General Secretary of the Gaibandha Family Planning Inspectors Association Dipayan Ranjan Das, Family Welfare Inspector Enamul Haque Mondal, Family Welfare Assistant Sayeda Ruhani, Family Welfare Assistant Mahmuda Akhter, Family Welfare Inspector Sabrina Sultana and many others.

All the employees of the Palashbari Upazila of the Department of Family Planning were present at the time. The speakers at the program said that we are facing discrimination due to the non-implementation of the recruitment rules in our service life for a long time.

On the one hand, there is a salary disparity and on the other hand, there is no provision for promotion, so we have to spend our entire life in the same position and retire. Therefore, we are observing a work stoppage and sit-in program as part of the central program demanding the speedy implementation of the recruitment rules for Family Welfare Assistants (FWA), Family Planning Inspectors (FPI), and Family Welfare Inspectors (FWV).

Our demand to the current government is that we hope that the government will take quick steps to return all the employees of our Family Planning Department to their workplaces by implementing the recruitment rules quickly.
