School bags were distributed to meritorious and needy students in the premises of Durgapur Government Primary School in Naogaon Sadar Upazila. The program was organized by the Needy Service Organization on Thursday (September 25) at around 12 noon.
The organizers said that school bags were distributed to a total of 150 students from four schools in the upazila. This initiative has been taken to increase the interest of students in studies and to support needy families.
The program was attended by prominent social worker and political figure Md. Masud Hasan Tuhin, the chief guest. Shamima Parveen, the head teacher of Durgapur Government Primary School, presided over the event.
The speakers said that it is the responsibility of society to stand by meritorious students from needy families. There is no alternative to such programs to provide inspiration for achieving education. They expressed hope that such initiatives will continue in the future.
At the end of the program, the chief guest and organizers handed over school bags to the students. Teachers, guardians and local dignitaries were present at the time.
