One-time scholarship checks have been handed over to meritorious students who have obtained GPA-5 in SSC and HSC equivalent examinations in Joypurhat. The check distribution ceremony was organized by the District Council at the Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium on Thursday afternoon.
The ceremony was presided over by the Chief Executive Officer of the District Council, Sarkar Mohammad Raihan, and the Deputy Commissioner and District Council Administrator (Joint Secretary) Afroza Akhtar Chowdhury was the chief guest. Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Rashedul Islam, District Council Executive Officer Mahmudul Hasan and District Education Officer (Acting) Ruhul Amin also spoke at the event.
According to District Council sources, a total of 121 students applied for the scholarship this year. After verification, 113 people were declared eligible and 8 people were declared ineligible. A total of 4 lakh 99 thousand 900 taka checks have been distributed among the students.
