Chouddagram (Comilla) Representative:

The long-standing demand of the people of Greater Comilla is that Comilla should be declared a division "in the name of Comilla". This is no longer a demand but "it is the right of the people of Comilla." A huge rally and procession was held at the Chouddagram HJ Pilot High School ground on Saturday afternoon under the initiative of the Chouddagram Upazila Sammilit Swechchhasebi Forum to demand the implementation of this right.

The speakers at the rally, chaired by Kazi Enamul Haque, chairman of the voluntary organization Kazi Enam Foundation, and moderated by Md. Hossain Nayan, founder of Chiora Blood Donation, said that the people of Comilla have been demanding the declaration of Comilla as a division since 1989. Comilla was supposed to be declared as the fifth division of the country by the name of Comilla.

But due to various conspiracies and mischief of the evil circles, the division of Comilla was not implemented at that time. In the past 17 years, several influential ministers in Comilla have served in important ministries, but they had no role in implementing the division of Comilla. After the current interim government came to power, the people of Comilla at all levels have been carrying out continuous agitation and struggle programs for the implementation of the division.

In this context, due to invisible reasons, the final decision to declare Comilla a division was recently made in the Advisory Council. The speakers also said that Comilla has all the qualifications to be a division. Therefore, the division should be declared as Comilla as soon as possible and implemented, there is no alternative.

Shakil, Nirafat of Nirapat Sarak Andolon, Md. Abul Hashem, advisor of Chiora Blood Donation, Abdul Aziz, founder of Gunwati Blood Donation, Md. Faruk of Kalikapur Oikya Parishad, Md. Mehraj, director of As Salam Foundation, volunteer organization leaders Sabbir, Mishu, Md. Hasan, Mamun, and others.

A huge procession was taken out on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway before the rally.
