Pujas are held in 2 Durga temples in the municipality and 26 Durga temples at the union level in Kalai Upazila of Joypurhat district. Public Durga Puja is held in Kalai Karmakar Para. Ansar forces are providing security in the said temple. The president of the said Durga Puja Committee is Shri Kshitish Kamkar, General Secretary is Sameer Kumar Kundu.

General Secretary of the Durga Puja Committee Sameer Kumar Kundu said, there is no shortage of security. We are being provided strict security with the cooperation of the Upazila Nihabhi Officer, Officer-in-Charge Kalai Police Station and various political parties. We have been able to carry out our puja activities beautifully. We hope that we will be able to celebrate the puja in a beautiful environment until the last day of the puja.

On Monday, September 30, at 9 pm, DC Abdul Barik, the MP candidate for Joypurhat 2 constituency, visited the Sarbjanin Durga Temple in Kalai Karmakar Para of the nationalist party BNP. BNP leaders and activists were present at the time.
