A protest procession was held in Ranishankail Upazila of Thakurgaon in protest against the shooting of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi and Chittagong Metropolitan BNP convener Ershad Ullah during a public meeting.

The procession started from Palash Makoit area under the banner of 'Common People' shortly after 7 pm on Saturday (December 13). Local youth and people of various professions participated in it with posters and festoons in their hands. The procession went through important roads of the municipality and ended at the intersection. Later, a protest rally was immediately held there.

Municipal BNP General Secretary Mohsin Ali, Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Bakul Majumder, Joint General Secretary Mithu, Zia Parishad President Sharif Master, Upazila Jubo Dal President Shamim Sumon and General Secretary Aktarul Islam Akhter addressed the rally. In addition, the President of the Municipal Youth Dal Omar Faruk, Organizing Secretary of the Municipal Youth Dal Momin, Organizing Secretary Muktarul Islam Muktar, Upazila Chhatra Dal leader and member secretary Rabbi, President of the Municipal Chhatra Dal Mithu and Upazila Mohila Dal President Monira Biswas and many others spoke.

In their speeches, the speakers said that the attack on Sharif Osman Hadi was not an isolated incident, but rather part of a planned campaign to create fear in the political arena. They alleged that such terrorist activities are being carried out to suppress democratic politics.

The rally demanded the immediate identification of those involved in the attack and exemplary punishment. The speakers also called for a neutral and transparent investigation to maintain political stability.

At the end of the rally, the participants ended the program peacefully by raising various slogans in protest of the attack.
