An important preparatory meeting has been held at the initiative of the Chuadanga District Administration to celebrate the upcoming Autumn Durga Puja-2025 peacefully and smoothly. The meeting was held today, September 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office. The meeting was presided over by Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Zahirul Islam.

Senior officials of the district administration, Superintendent of Police, Civil Surgeon, Fire Service representatives, committee members of various puja mandap, leaders of the Hindu community, political figures, and journalists were present in the meeting. In his speech as the chairman, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Zahirul Islam said that Durga Puja is not just a religious festival, it is a gathering of Bengalis.

Everyone has to work together to celebrate this festival while maintaining communal harmony. He said, 'We want the joy of the festival to remain intact in every puja mandap of Chuadanga and no untoward incident should occur. The administration will be on the highest alert to maintain the law and order situation.'

He also said that instructions have been given to keep adequate lighting arrangements in every mandap, keep emergency exits open and keep necessary equipment ready for fire service personnel. Several important decisions were taken in the meeting on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja: Security arrangements: Adequate number of police and Ansar members will be deployed in every puja mandap. At the same time, plainclothes intelligence surveillance will be increased. Additional security will be provided to risky mandap.

Traffic management: Traffic police will be deployed at important places to reduce traffic congestion during puja days. Emphasis will be placed on proper traffic management, especially during idol immersion. Health and Public Health: The Civil Surgeon's Office has requested that first aid facilities be provided in puja mandap. In addition, the municipality and local authorities have been instructed to maintain cleanliness in the area around the mandap.

Immersion: A specific time frame has been set for the idol immersion in an orderly manner. At the same time, it has been decided to ensure adequate lighting and water safety at the immersion sites. Power supply: The authorities concerned have been requested to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the puja. Special attention will be paid to ensure that there is no load shedding, especially in the evening and night.

The presidents and general secretaries of various puja committees participating in the meeting highlighted their problems and preparations. They said that with the cooperation of the administration, the puja was celebrated peacefully last year and they are expecting the same this time too. At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner thanked everyone and said that with the active cooperation of the administration as well as the common people, this year's Durga Puja will add a new dimension to Chuadanga. It will not only be a festival, but will also be a reflection of our harmony and culture.
