A prayer and discussion meeting was held in Kalai, Joypurhat, on the occasion of the 81st birth anniversary of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister, late national leader Begum Khaleda Zia. Leaders and activists of BNP and its associate organizations participated in this program organized by Kalai Upazila, Municipal BNP and its affiliates and affiliate organizations at Kalai Panchshira Majidiya Hafiziya and Orphanage on Saturday (August 15) evening.

State Minister for Public Administration and Food Ministry Md. Abdul Bari was present as the chief guest at the program. Kalai Upazila BNP Convener Mr. Ibrahim Hossain presided over the meeting and Upazila BNP Senior Joint Convener Mr. Moudud Alam Sarkar conducted the meeting.

At the discussion meeting, the speakers recalled Begum Khaleda Zia's long political life, her role in the country's democratic movement and her contribution to BNP politics. They said that Khaleda Zia is an important name in the country's political history. Under her leadership, BNP has played an important role in the movement to establish democracy, people's rights and voting rights at various times.

In his speech as the chief guest, State Minister for Public Administration and Food Ministry Abdul Bari MP said that Begum Khaleda Zia is an unforgettable name in the politics of Bangladesh. Her role in the movement to establish democracy and people's rights in the country will be remembered in history.

She was not only the leader of BNP leaders and activists, but also played an important role in the struggle for the rights of the common people of the country. He said, Begum Khaleda Zia's political life was dedicated to the welfare of the country and the people. Despite various adversities and political crises, she took a stand for democracy. Her leadership, courage and uncompromising political role will be an inspiration for the coming generation.

Abdul Bari MP further said, every leader and activist of BNP must stand by the people by embracing Khaleda Zia's ideals and political spirit. They must rise above personal interests and work for the welfare of the people. Organizational activities must be further strengthened by maintaining unity, discipline and mutual respect within the party.

He said, the expectations of the people of the country are high at present. To gain the trust of the people, it is not only political statements that must be made, but also an effective role in solving their problems by standing by their side in their happiness and sorrow. BNP's politics must be centered on the rights, security and welfare of the common people.

At the end of the discussion meeting, special prayers and prayers were held seeking the forgiveness of Begum Khaleda Zia's soul.
