Police have arrested 4 members of an inter-district robbery gang in Joypurhat. Various weapons and equipment used in the robbery, along with the stolen goods, were recovered during the robbery. Joypurhat Police Superintendent Muhammad Abdul Wahab gave this information at a press briefing in his conference room on Saturday afternoon.
The arrested are Rubel Faraji, son of Majnu Faraji of Ilaipur Uttarpara village in Rupsha upazila of Khulna, Sohel Abid, son of Din Islam of Galaxy intersection area, Zahid Hasan, son of the late Abdur Rob Mallick of Mallick house in Nalchiti upazila of Jhalakathi, and Kamrul Islam, son of Shamsuddin of Bhatra village in Shibganj upazila of Bogra.
The Superintendent of Police said that on September 4, robbers tied the hands and feet of the family members of an expatriate in Gopinathpur village of Akkelpur upazila and robbed them of gold and money. In addition, a robbery took place at the house of a businessman in Jamalganj Bazar, Akkelpur Upazila, and a teacher in Kalai Upazila.
When separate cases were filed in these incidents, the police went to the field to catch the robbers. In continuation of this, a team of Joypurhat DB police conducted a raid in different areas of the DMP and Savar Police Station in the capital and arrested four people. During this, various stolen goods including gold ornaments, a private car used for the robbery, weapons and various tools used for the robbery were recovered.
There are multiple cases against the arrested people in different districts of the country.
