Planting of herbal saplings at the wildlife sanctuary in Haripur

With the commitment to protect the balance of nature and preserve biodiversity, a “herb sapling planting program in the wild animal and bird sanctuary” was held in the Nalahar (Pukurpar) area of ​​Haripur upazila.

The overall direction and cooperation of this program, organized with the aim of increasing awareness about protecting the environment and biodiversity, was provided by Haripur Upazila’s Executive Officer Bikash Chandra Barman (UNO). With his visionary and inspiring initiative, a new dimension has been added to the activities of creating a safe habitat for wildlife in this region.

The program was organized by the environmentalist voluntary social organization ‘Oxygen’, in cooperation with the Upazila Administration, Haripur, Thakurgaon.

Local volunteers, environment-loving youth, and local residents actively participated in the program. They planted saplings of various species of herbs, including neem, tulsi, arjun, ashoka, amalaki and various species.

Speakers at the event said, “Such initiatives need to be expanded out of a sense of human responsibility towards nature and biodiversity. Medicinal plants not only protect the environment, they are beneficial for both humans and animals.”

The organizers expressed hope that through this initiative, the Nalahar area of ​​Haripur will gradually become a unique sanctuary.
