PIB journalist training held

The Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) initiated the second phase of the three-day journalism training program from Tuesday to Thursday, which began with the aim of professional development of journalists injured in the July-August 2024 mass uprising, and distributed certificates as the chief guest. A total of 28 journalists from all over the country are participating in the second phase of this training (September 9-11, 2025). Those who were physically and mentally injured while performing their professional duties in the mass uprising.

Earlier, Mahbuba Farzana, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was present as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony organized at the seminar room of PIB on Tuesday. The program was presided over by PIB Director General Faruk Wasif.

The training included special sessions on digital journalism, necessary apps, tools, audio recording using microphones or headphones, video shooting and editing, ethics of journalism, and coping with trauma.

The training was attended by Daffodil International University Associate Professor Dr. Jamil Khan, University of Liberal Arts Adjunct Faculty Nazia Afrin Monami, BRAC Communication Specialist Shafat Rahman, Fact Checker Ridwan Islam, and others.
