The first season of the “4th and 5th Ward Premier League-25” organized for the youth of Wards 4 and 5 of Chhatak Municipality has been successfully completed.
The program, held at 10:30 pm on Thursday, November 20, at the hall of Kumna Government Primary School, was attended by more than a hundred young cricketers from eight villages of Wards 4 and 5—Lebar Para, Dakshin Bagbari, Bhaskhala, Bajna Mahal, Shyampara, Kumna, Ganakshai and Bakir Par.

A total of 105 players participated in the tournament by paying a registration fee of 100 taka each. Local talented players participated in the draft held for 8 teams. The main objective of this event is to highlight the cricket talent of the youth of the area, make the youth of this area interested in sports and lay the foundation for conducting tournaments more competitively and professionally in the future.

The event was attended by Md. Lahin Mia, founder of Bhashkhala Kings XI, one of the members of the tournament organizing committee, Abhoni Sporting Club and Chhatak Online Press Club General Secretary Sajjad Mahmud Monir, Md. Rubel Ahmed, Md. Salauddin, Md. Pavel Mia, Mithun Acharya, Imran Hossain Abid, Md. Zakaria, Abu Bakar Chowdhury, Jewel Ahmed, Sabuj Ahmed, Md. Rakib Ali and many other volunteers and sports lovers. The first place team in the tournament will receive 20,000 taka, the second place team will receive 15,000 taka, and the third place team will receive 10,000 taka.

The organizing committee thanked all the players, team representatives, volunteers and cricket lovers present for the fair and successful completion of the draft. It has been informed that the date of the opening ceremony and the match schedule will be announced soon.

It is expected that this player draft event will become an important step in the development of local sports and youth society.
