A sensational incident took place in Rajarhat Upazila of Kurigram district, where a night guard was brutally killed by breaking the lock and looting about 30 to 35 lakh taka at the office of Abul Khair’s company. Tapan Sarkar (55), who had been working as a night guard in the company for a long time, was killed in this tragic incident.
The deceased Tapan Sarkar is the son of Dhirendranath Sarkar and a resident of Daldaliya Das Para village in Rajarhat Upazila. He had been working as a night guard in Abul Khair’s company for about 8 years. His monthly salary was 7 thousand taka. His wife Mona Rani is currently spending her days in grief and fear.
Murder in the late night, bloody body found in the morning According to local and family sources, miscreants broke the lock of the office late on Saturday night and entered inside. When the night guard Tapan Sarkar, who was on duty at the time, tried to stop him, he was brutally killed. After the murder, the miscreants looted the cash in the office and fled.
Tapan Sarkar last spoke to his family shortly before 12:45 am on the night of the incident. Then, around 7 am, his wife Mona Rani came to the office and found the office lock broken and some employees standing outside and talking in whispers.
Upon entering, she saw her husband’s bloodied body lying on the floor. Out of fear and grief, she came out and asked the people present, but no one gave her any good answers, she alleged.
Manager’s silence suspected Although the company’s manager Md. Liton Rahman was present in the office at the time of the incident, he was silent and avoided answering the questions of the deceased’s wife. Various questions and suspicions have been raised among the locals regarding the matter.
Mona Rani, the deceased’s wife, complained, “My husband was killed in a planned manner. I think people inside the company, especially the manager, may have been involved in this incident. I want a fair trial for this murder.”
Colleagues and locals outraged, demanding maximum punishment The colleagues of the deceased confirmed the truth of the incident and said that they are demanding maximum punishment for this brutal murder. Meanwhile, extreme panic and anger prevailed in the entire area over the incident.
Local locals said, “Such a brutal incident has never happened in Rajarhat before. We want the culprits to be identified quickly and exemplary punishment ensured.”
Upon receiving the information, the police quickly reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the Kurigram District Hospital morgue for autopsy. The police said that an investigation and operation are underway to identify and arrest those involved in the incident.
The mystery of this brutal murder and looting is still not solved. Locals have demanded that the real truth be revealed through a quick investigation and the culprits be brought to justice.
