The Boalmari Muslim Media Club has taken an exceptional initiative to ensure safety in water and help children develop physically by teaching them to swim.
This Friday (October 17) morning, the children's swimming lessons were inaugurated at the organic fish pond located in front of the Al Helal Complex in Boalmari Upazila of Faridpur district and life jackets were distributed among 10 children.
The program was organized by the founder of the Muslim Media Club and President of the Boalmari Press Club, Editor of the weekly Al Helal newspaper, Mr. Md. Rizaul Haque. At the inaugural ceremony, he said,
"It is very important for every child to learn to swim. Knowing how to swim is not just a skill - it is life safety. We want no child in our upazila to be a victim of an accident due to not knowing how to swim."
He also said, "The Muslim Media Club always wants to play a positive role in social development. We want to gradually bring every child under this training."
The parents present expressed their satisfaction and said, “Such a humanitarian initiative is truly commendable. Our children are learning to swim with joy—not only are they becoming confident, but they are also losing their fear of water.”
The faces of the children who received life jackets were filled with excitement. They said, “We were afraid to go into the water earlier, but now we are not afraid anymore. Learning to swim is very fun.”
The entire environment was filled with the laughter and excitement of the children. The guests and passersby also enjoyed their joyful moments in the organic fish pond.
