In Manda, Naogaon, the theme of “I am a girl child, I build dreams, I fight bravely, I work for the welfare of the country” was observed in Manda Upazila with the support of the Upazila Administration and Women’s Affairs Department and the Manda branch of the People’s Development Center.
Today, Wednesday (October 8) at 10 am, a rally was held on the occasion of Girl Child Day, after which a discussion meeting was held in the Manda Upazila Parishad meeting room after parading the main roads of the upazila. Upazila Executive Officer Akhtar Jahan Sathi presided over the discussion meeting.
At the discussion meeting, he said that girl children are not a burden on society, girl children are not objects of neglect. Along with men, girls also do a lot of work. Do not ruin the life of a girl child by marrying her off at an early age. Stop child marriage and provide health protection to girl children.
Also present at the discussion meeting were Women’s Affairs Officer Rita Rani Pal, Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Dipankar Pal, Information Officer Sirajum Munira, Project Officer of the Public Development Center Habibur Rahman, Volunteer Saddam Hossain, etc.
At the end of the program, donation checks were distributed among the members of the 5 volunteer associations for women’s affairs in the upazila.
