A prayer and milad mahfil for the soul of the late Shah Alam Bhuiyan, a correspondent of Dainik Ittefaq, was held at the Nandail Press Club office on Friday evening (November 14) in Nandail Upazila of Mymensingh.
Organized by the Nandail Press Club and Journalists Association, the program was chaired by the club's president Enamul Haque Babul and moderated by the finance secretary Rafiqul Islam Morel. The program was addressed by the club's senior vice-president Professor Mahbubur Rahman Babul, Nandail Journalists Association president AB Siddique Khasru, Nandail Blood Donate Society president Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan, Nandail Primary Teachers Association convener Aminul Islam Anju, journalist Aminul Islam Bulbul, journalist Farid Mia, Azizul Haque and Nandail Digital Press Club office secretary Humayun Kabir, among others.
The speakers, while reminiscing about the late journalist Shah Alam Bhuiyan, said that journalist Shah Alam Bhuiyan was a truthful, fearless and good-natured person. His death has caused an irreparable loss to the media arena in Nandail.
They highlighted various aspects of the deceased's active life and prayed for the peace of his soul and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.
Later, Inqilab correspondent Maulana Habibur Rahman led a special prayer seeking the forgiveness of the deceased's soul. Journalists from various print and electronic media, including journalists from Nandail Press Club, were present at the prayer and Milad Mahfil.
